QIBR Bearing was established in 2002, which is the leader supplier of precision rolling bearings and parts. Our key products include precision angular contact ball bearing, thin-section ball bearing, cross roller bearing, high speed low noise deep groove ball bearing.

In mechanical design, it's generally a common practice to first determine the dimensions of the shaft and then select bearings based on those dimensions. Typically, ball bearings are used for smaller shafts, while larger shafts utilize cylindrical roller bearings, spherical roller bearings, and tapered roller bearings (with the option of ball bearings in some cases). If there is limited radial space for bearing installation, bearings with smaller radial section heights should be chosen. These could include needle roller bearings, certain series of deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, cylindrical or spherical roller bearings, and thin-section ball bearings. Conversely, if there is limited axial space for bearing installation, bearings with smaller widths should be used.

The design time for bearings typically ranges from several days to several weeks. For more complex design tasks, such as high-speed spindle bearings and bearings for special operating conditions, the required time may be longer. In addition to the time required for designing the bearings themselves, detailed requirement analysis and data collection are necessary before the design process begins. These processes also require a significant amount of time and effort.

In summary, bearing design is a process that requires patience and technical expertise. The time required for design depends on factors such as the skill of the designer, the complexity of the design requirements, and the tools and techniques employed.

Material and Quality Issues

The materials used include bearing steel, ceramics, plastics, composite materials, etc.

1) Bearing Steel: Steel is commonly used for making bearings due to its high strength and hardness. The surface of steel can be further hardened and made more wear-resistant through heat treatment or surface treatment processes. Within a certain range, steel also exhibits good high-temperature resistance and fatigue life characteristics, maintaining stable performance under continuous cyclic loads. It is easy to machine and shape.

2)Ceramic Materials: Ceramic materials are typically harder than steel, offering higher wear resistance. They also have excellent high-temperature resistance, chemical stability, and corrosion resistance, making them suitable for long-term use in corrosive environments. Ceramic materials are usually lighter than steel, reducing the load and inertia of bearings. They are excellent insulating materials and generally non-magnetic. Due to their smooth surface, ceramics can achieve dry friction under certain conditions.

3)Plastic Materials: Plastic materials have good self-lubricating properties, low friction coefficients, and good resistance to water and some chemicals. They offer excellent shock absorption and vibration damping properties. Compared to metals, plastics are lighter, reducing the inertia load of bearings. Plastic is an insulating material, preventing electrical currents from passing through bearings. Some special plastic materials also have good wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

4)Composite Materials: Composite materials are typically composed of two or more different materials, making them lighter than traditional metal materials. They possess higher strength and stiffness and are less susceptible to corrosion. Compared to metal bearings, composite material bearings have stronger resistance to chemicals, water, and other environmental factors. Some composite materials exhibit good self-lubricating properties and excellent shock absorption and vibration damping performance, which can be achieved by adding solid lubricants or introducing lubricating fillers into the composite material. The processing technology of composite materials is more flexible and diverse than traditional materials. By adjusting parameters such as material composition, fiber direction, and lamination sequence, precise control of bearing performance can be achieved to meet the requirements of different application scenarios.

Installation and Maintenance Issues

1) Make sure the work area where the bearing is installed is clean.

2) Make sure the bearing surface is clean.

3) Use appropriate tools and equipment for installation.

4) Make sure the bearing is correctly positioned in the installation position.

5) When installing bearings, appropriate installation force needs to be applied.

6) Pay attention to the direction of the bearing and ensure that it fits correctly with adjacent components.

7) Strictly follow the installation guidelines and recommendations provided by the bearing manufacturer to ensure that the installation process meets standards and requirements.

1. Regular lubrication: Check the lubrication of the bearings regularly and add or replace lubricant as needed. Make sure to use the appropriate type and amount of lubricant to keep the bearings well lubricated during operation.

2. Keep it clean: Clean the bearing and its surrounding environment regularly to prevent dust, dirt and other impurities from entering the inside of the bearing and affecting its normal operation.

3. Monitor temperature and vibration: Regularly monitor the temperature and vibration of the bearing. Abnormal temperature and vibration may be signs of bearing failure. Discover and eliminate the source of the fault promptly to prevent further expansion of the fault.

4. Regular inspection and tightening: Regularly check the status of the bearing and its mounting seat to ensure that the bearing is in the correct position and direction, and tighten the bolts and nuts to avoid failures caused by looseness and deflection.

5. Pay attention to lubrication and seals: Regularly check the lubrication and seals of the bearings to ensure their integrity and effectiveness. Replace worn or damaged lubricants and seals when necessary to prevent lubricant leakage and external contamination from entering the bearing.

6. Avoid overload: Avoid excessive load or impact load on the bearing to prevent premature wear or damage of the bearing. Make sure the bearings are within the design load range and avoid sudden starts or stops.

7. Record maintenance records: Regularly record the maintenance and upkeep of bearings, including lubrication time, lubricant type, lubrication volume, temperature and vibration monitoring results, etc., so that problems can be discovered in a timely manner and analyzed and improved.
